In 2022, Larry Herzog Jr. came home from treatment sober and uncertain what came next. Then a community band director asked whether he would like to play a solo.
Reverie follows his return to music one rehearsal and performance at a time. Told as a concert program, it moves through military service, addiction, recovery, church, and community without forcing those years into a clean story of progress.
This is not a prescription for getting better or a testimony built around one dramatic decision. It is a memoir about help arriving from outside us — through music, neighbors, and the ordinary means by which God keeps giving what we cannot make for ourselves.
